The Brief: The client had built a new house with beautifully designed interiors that required stylish low maintenance outdoor living spaces to match. Coordination with the existing colour scheme of pale greys, charcoal and lime was required. The client had installed raised planter beds, some paving and feature travertine cladding on the external wall. The spaces consisted of two small courtyards and a verge area. The north-facing outdoor courtyard needed screening plantings for privacy. There was a sculpture and mature frangipanis to place. Paving was extended to maximize the size of the space. Screenings of Syzygium, Dwarf Magnolia and Star Jasmine were selected to provide privacy and lush evergreen foliage.
Cycads feature in the front beds with Riverstone pebbles as mulch. An advanced Bauhinia was planted in the verge along with waterwise plantings of Eremophila and Coprosma.
